How to read your event sales and attendance reports

Understand the difference between tickets, orders, revenue and attendance before comparing event results.

Choose the question first

Decide whether you are reviewing sales progress, ticket availability or attendance. Orders, tickets and guests are not interchangeable units. One order can contain more than one ticket, and a sale does not establish that someone entered the venue.

Check scope and filters

Select the event and date range, then inspect currency, payment and status filters where available. Compare totals only when the underlying scope matches. A difference between two reports can come from the records included rather than a missing transaction.

Use the detail behind a total

Review the relevant records or authorized export to understand a change. Share only the information the recipient needs. Access to reports and exports depends on permissions, so arrange the right access before a time-sensitive operational review.

Separate reporting from settlement

Use platform reports to understand recorded event activity. Reconcile settlement questions with the payment provider and your accounting process. Record the report, filters and review period when sharing numbers so another team member can reproduce the result.
